Pt. Deepak Kshirsagar is an Indian Classical Guitarist acclaimed worldwide. He is a Top-graded artist of All India Radio in Classical Guitar and an A- Graded artist in Vocal Music, a feat achieved by very few musicians of the country. Pt. Kshirsagar is eminent for developing his unique technique of Gaayki Ang on the Indian Slide Guitar. He belongs to the legacy of Gwalior Gharana in the lineage of Pt. B. N. Kshirsagar and later attained his training in the Indian Slide Guitar from Pt. Satish Khanwalkar.
Born and brought up in a culturally and musically enriched environment, he developed an inclination toward classical music from a very early age. As childhood transitioned into youth, he acknowledged and delved into his passion for the Classical Guitar, having mastered Classical Vocal music dedicatedly. Pt. Kshirsagar started climbing rungs of the success ladder when he was 18, be it the Radio Auditon, Ministry of Culture scholarship and fellowship or the hit performances at Kolkatta, Pune, Mumbai, Jaipur, Delhi and Ahmedabad. During his journey as a Classical Guitarist, he explored the scope of Gaayki Ang on the Indian Slide Guitar, making it one of the most beautiful and unique techniques in instrumental music.
Pt. Kshirsagar is the recipient of many national and international awards like Yuva Ratna (Delhi, 1998), Sur Mani- Sur Singar Sansad (Mumbai, 1995), Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy Award, Kala Award (Jaipur, 2000), Pancham Samman (2009) and Marwar Ratna (Meherangarh Fort, Jodhpur, 2018) to name a few. He has performed at numerous places including Harvallabh Sangeet Sammelan, Tansen Samaroh, Kurtakoti Sangeet Sammelan, Bhimsen Joshi Mahotsav, and the national broadcast of Akashwani Sangeet Sammelan.
