About Indian classical guitar

The Indian Slide Guitar is a modified and recodified version of the Hawaiian Guitar.It was first introduced by Pt Gopal Singh Hazara and later established by Pt Brijbhooshan Kabra of Jodhpur. Nowadays many personified names for the instrument are in prevalence. It is played with a steel bar with the Hindustani technique. with three major strings on top and a chikari joda,tarab strings like those in instruments like Sitar have been placed under the main strings for better sustain of swaras . Made up of pure Indian Rosewood and Spruce, the Indian Slide guitar is very popular amongst the organisers and listeners of Indian classical music and light music.
